Keep snacks or a compass close to hand in the hipbelt pockets, while a zipped pocket under the lid is ideal for stashing valuables. There’s plenty of space for a hat or extra layer thanks to the expandable side pockets, and you can store walking poles using the attachment points and bungee retention.
